The NUAMPS video and video conferencing crews have all hands on deck today at the Law School for events centering around former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens’ visit to campus. Our first event, which lasts throughout the day, is the 2011 Law Review Symposium in Lincoln Hall, the topic of which is The Legacy of Justice Stevens. Shortly after lunch, we will be recording a private interview with Justice Stevens, conducted by a member of the Law School staff, and then later this evening, the main event, A Moderated Conversation with Hon. John Paul Stevens JD ’47 will take place in Thorne Auditorium. Finally, we will end our day’s production tonight at the Ritz-Carlton, where VIPs from today’s events will be speaking.
This description of today’s 15-hour production marathon does not include tomorrow’s video production at the Chicago Theater for the Law School graduation ceremony, for which Justice Stevens is the keynote speaker. For now, we’re just focusing (pardon the pun) on getting all of today’s footage in the can, and enjoying the opportunity to hear and record one of the most influential voices in the history of our country’s judiciary.
