Larry Lessig, Stanford professor and founder of the Center for Internet and Society, offers his view of the modern relationship between creativity and the law in his presentation How Creativity Is Being Strangled by the Law in a 2007 Ted Talk. Besides being an example of an effective presentation model, this discussion is especially timely as we seem to be at a point where as a society we’re trying to define the difference between use and piracy (see Harlan’s comment on the previous post).
Update: As a nice foil to Lessig’s talk, Josh Catone at Read/Write Web (see how nicely that ties into this post?) writes about Viacom and CBS chairman Sumner Redstone’s take on the issue of copyright and creativity.
