MediaWorks Gets New Site

Northwestern University Advanced Media Production Studio (NUAMPS), a division of NUIT Academic Technologies (AT), launches a new website for the Northwestern University media lab MediaWorks.

The new MediaWorks site (http://mediaworks.at.northwestern.edu) consolidates all information on the popular computer and digital media lab into one location, giving students a quick way to access general information such as hours, location, lab news, and equipment available as well as supplemental resources like frequently asked questions and tip sheets on common media development tasks. Another aspect of the site will be the future implementation of a section showcasing student work produced in MediaWorks.

The MediaWorks lab, located in the basement of the Northwestern University library, houses Mac and PC media stations for the digitization, creation, and editing of video, audio, web, and design projects. The lab is for the exclusive use of students, and classes do not use the space. The MediaWorks website launch coincides with the lab”s annual MediaWorks commercial competition in which students may win an Apple iPod by submitting a 30-second spot advertising the lab.
