We’re working with the Paul Matijevic, Development and Alumni Relations, and One Smooth Stone (headed up by Mark Ledogar, class of ’89) to broadcast, for the first time, the Alumni Reunion Tailgate at Rocky Miller Park. In all, there are 14 of us behind the scenes making this happen.
The emcee for the event is award winning journalist Christine Brennan from USA Today (class of ’80 and ’81) who will interview our President, Morton Schapiro, the 2011 homecoming King and Queen, Steve Schnur from the ’96 Wildcats Rosebowl team, members of the Women’s LaCrosse team, Roxana Saberi (’99) who was imprisoned by the Iranian government in ’09 and charged with espionage, as well as many other alumni from years past with compelling stories to tell. Seth Meyers (’96), Grand Marshall and star of Saturday Night Live, was unable to be present for the interview.
NUIT is providing support for the live stream, which is being published over the Akamai video network. This is a very exciting live event that literally has a portable TV studio making this all happen.
I’ll post some additional pictures later on. Right now, we’re going live – http://alumni.northwestern.edu/nulive
Logon, view the stream, send in comments and enjoy the show!
The tent is packed with alumni and their families. NUIT has not been involved with this event before but I cannot wait until next year!
