This year, with the new schedule of Convocation ceremonies across campus, we have our cameras stationed in the dark and delightfully-air conditioned Cahn Auditorium to tape the School of Education and Social Policy’s Convocation ceremony. It is a far cry from our many consecutive previous years, sweating our lenses off in the sauna that was Welsh-Ryan arena for the Kellogg Convocation. We will still be involved in that event as Mike’s team streams it for the web, but for now, the rest of our crew is hard at work providing a video document and overflow feed for SESP’s ceremony. We’ve become more and more involved with SESP over the last year, and are excited to be providing this production for them at the culmination of the 2010-2011 academic year.
There are two additional bonuses to this shoot today. One is that our former NUIT A&RT NUAMPS coworker, Caleb Lawson, is in the house with his fiancee, Jen, as her brother, David, graduates today. It was great to catch up with Caleb on this, his first visit back to Evanston since he left us for IGN in San Francisco three and a half years ago. Bonus number two is that our NUIT A&RT colleague, James Altman, is graduating from Northwestern today with his Masters of Science in Learning and Organizational Change. We silently cheered from behind our cameras as he received his diploma, pictured above.
Congratulations to all of the graduates receiving their degrees this weekend from Northwestern!
