On May 21, 2006, the Northwestern School of Music brought Mozart’s Così fan tutte to Cahn Auditorium. As part of an ongoing project to record NU’s operatic offerings, NUAMPS shot the performance in HDV. With a libretto by Lorenzo da Ponte, the opera tells the story of two officers who decide to test each other’s claim that his fiancé will be eternally faithful. While in disguise each man attempts to seduce the other’s lover.
Directed by Noel Koran, Director of Opera at the School of Music, Così fan tutte concluded the 2005-2006 NU opera season and marks the fourth collaboration between Dr. Koran and NUAMPS.
