Susan Whitfield is Director of the International Dunhuang Project, British Library, and author of several books, including Life along the Silk Road (1999) Aurel Stein on the Silk Road (2004), and the catalogue for the British Library’s Silk Road exhibition, which she helped organize in 2004: The Silk Road: Trade, Travel, War and Faith.

Harlan Wallach, Media Architect, Northwestern University, has worked extensively in China developing mural digitization techniques with the Dunhuang Academy, and other cultural heritage academies. Co-editor of “Images of Shuilu’an” published in 2010 details the collaborative project documenting the Shuilu’an Temple in Xian with the Shaanxi Conservation Academy
