Our partner organization in the on-going Timbuktu manuscript project has launched a new blog, announcing the opening of a new conservation lab on the site of the Mama Haidara Library. The Malian NGO SAVAMA-DCI is the in-country organization we are working with in conjunction with ALUKA to establish a digitization center in Timbuktu. The president of SAVAMA-DCI is Abdel Kader Haidara, who’s family library is the Mama Haidara Library.
Advanced technology to the service of the restoration in the manuscripts, a first in Africa.
