DSTA is an AWS cloud application with a Vue/Vuetify frontend and NodeJS Serverless backend.
This program, sponsored by the Office of the President with the cooperation of the School of Education and Social Policy, and supported by the Associated Student Government, recognizes the transforming power of high school teachers in our lives and our communities.
Northwestern graduating seniors can log in and create an account through Northwestern SSO and submit a nomination for teachers who have had transforming impact on students. Nominees are notified via email and receive a magic login link to submit an application through the platform. Applications are assigned committee reviewers who submit reviews and comments on each nominee’s application. Finally, nominee finalists are determined through the review process and five teachers are selected in the Spring. DSTA platform v2 also features a dashboard that allows an admin to view/edit all application, user and historical data and fully manage the platform.
