Come learn about the current research and consulting work of Ithaka S+R, the strategy and research division within
ITHAKA. This session will introduce participants to our ongoing programs, with special attention to the sustainability of
digital resources, online learning, and the print-to-digital transition in libraries and university presses.

1:30 – 3:00       B: Ensuring Preservation in a Digital Environment
The long-term preservation of scholarly literature has always been a part of the mission of ITHAKA and its associated
services. This session will provide a summary of ITHAKA-wide preservation-related initiatives, including an update
on Portico and its response to evolving preservation needs in the community as well as insight into Portico’s experience in
becoming the first digital preservation service to be independently audited by the Center for Research Libraries (CRL). The
next phase of Ithaka S + R’s “What to Withdraw” project will also be addressed.
