Passed by the Beijing Art Museum yesterday and first encountered the line to get in over two blocks away.

The entire facade of the building has been redone as a part of its latest exhibit “Dunhuang Lights”, to look like the cliff scarp at Mogao Cu.

A bit surreal, but an extremely popular exhibit, daily admissions are capped at 7,000 people a day.

I particularly like the fact that they reproduced the free standing gate that is at the entrance of the caves. I am getting a visit of the museum Monday.
