This evening we are delighted to be celebrating with the Class of 2017, their family, and their friends at the Latinx Congratulatory Celebration! “The Latinx Congratulatory is our way of recognizing and celebrating the accomplishments of Northwestern’s Latinx graduates” (Multicultural Student Affairs, 2017).
This celebration is taking place in a combination of Spanish and English, and to support this we developed a very cool online solution. For the in-room audience slides with translations in Spanish for English-language keynote speeches and translations in English for Spanish-language keynotes. For the online audience, we combined the video feed with text from a teleprompter to create a flexible subtitle.
During each keynote, my colleague Nate listened in one language and ran the teleprompter in another. The AMPS team also coordinated live English text captioning for the event.
We are thrilled to be a part of this event and look forward to future opportunities to develop multilingual streaming options!
